Organized Rides & Tours

While it might be a bit intimidating to think about riding with hundreds of other riders in an organized ride, there are many benefits to joining an organized road (or mountain) race or ride. Personally, I really enjoy the opportunities for pit-stops and knowing that I don't have to worry much about my route or getting lost!

Rutland Recreation Department and Rutland Regional Medical Center Rehabilitation Services co-sponsor the Go Play Series, which includes organized walks + mountain biking events. 3 Droopy Pedal races are scheduled for June 20, July 18, and August 15.

Like many organized walk/run events, organized rides often double as fundraisers for various organizations:

In support of Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sport, the Longtrail Century Ride offers 20-, 60-, and 100-mile loops that all start and end at the Longtrail Brewery in Bridgewater.

In support of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center, the Prouty is a multi-event fundraiser including cycling, walking rowing, and golf.

The Farm to Fork Fondo is making it's way into Vermont this year! In support of keeping our working farmland, well, working, this fantastic event supports area non-profits, highlights local farms and food, and celebrates the beauty of our region.
